Risk does not always equal reward.

Going into this year, I wanted to try something new and make my own decision so I decided to stay on campus with people I’ve never spoken to. The bottom line there was a lot of risks and not a lot of reward in making this risky decision.

Great minds think alike

If you’ve created something truly unique assume others will come up with similar ideas whether they know about your app/project/idea/etc or not.

Build the right team/surround yourself with the right people

TLDR Teams fall apart if the chemistry sucks

Whatever you are doing, from a project to roommates, surround yourself with people who are hard-working, kind, and passionate.

Build-in breaks and healthy habits.

Breaks do not have to be traditional breaks, like watching tv, it can be working on a new project or writing a medium post, etc.

Make expectations and goals clear

Especially with projects and roommates, set the tone, boundaries, and goals. Without a goal, teams tend to fall apart.

Do practice tests over vocab memorization, but memorization is still important

Gaining confidence through practice is so important.

Reach out

Reaching out to random people is great, you’ll meet so many amazing people.
